can you hear me?

can you hear me?

Silence is a language of its own

But not one that many, without discipline, understand

Instead–music

The great mediator [the Christ come to reconcile us all]

When words fail us [spectacularly, too] there

remains music

The heart of man, the melody of immortality

An illustration untainted by history

Because there is a certain beauty in letting the

soul sing

The inconsolable fire

[Music feeds its heat]

The inconstancy of tears

[Music weeps with you]

The insidiousness of faith

[Music confronts our divinity]

The intolerable pain

[Music knows its source]

Yet, there is something more [something sinister? possibly] that reaches deep within

us

And bridges a broken past

With a bleak present

Still hoping for a better future
