A Poetic Interpretation of 2021 Prom Night

In the death of day

Bears the birth of night

What the heart finds in decay

Is now left blind in sight

So, my eyes in you confide

The likeness of friends and lovers

And our performance coincides

With the law that we become the others

A dress doesn’t appear without her suit

And the motion never preludes its beat

A friend ceases to quit their group

As the tables refuse to serve without seats

But, as for the experience,

Come what may

And, in that, the delirious

Claimed the stage

The labels are casted

And hearts flush

Whilst the royals outlasted

The school-vote rush

But, as for the quiet,

All is but a story

Where the young, in joy riot,

Basking in their adolescent glory
