“Artificial intelligence (AI) has been increasingly influencing various aspects of our world and is becoming more prevalent in everyday life. Here are some ways AI is affecting the world:

Business: AI is being used in a wide range of industries, from customer service to finance, to improve efficiency and make better predictions.

Healthcare: AI is helping medical professionals make more accurate diagnoses, develop new treatments, and improve patient outcomes.

Transportation: AI is being integrated into autonomous vehicles and intelligent traffic management systems to improve safety and efficiency.

Education: AI is being used to personalize learning experiences, grade assignments, and provide immediate feedback to students.

Entertainment: AI is changing the way people consume and create media, such as through recommendation systems and intelligent content creation.

Security: AI is being used to detect and prevent cyber attacks, as well as to enhance physical security through facial recognition and other forms of biometric identification.

Overall, AI is transforming many areas of our world and has the potential to bring about significant advancements and improvements. However, it also raises important ethical and societal questions that must be considered as AI continues to evolve and influence our lives.”

These excerpts above and below were written by the increasingly popular AI ChatGPT. As the AI stated it can be used for a variety of purposes throughout the world, but one of the more interesting points in can be used for is that of creative purposes. The passage below was a poem written by ChatGPT in under 45 seconds, and has both a rhyme scheme and uses iambic pentameter. Seeing as a poem of this caliber might take a poet hours to scribe out and the AI did it in a matter of seconds it begs the question will AI replace the creative mind’s place? If this trend of using AI for writing continues it is very possible AI will soon replace much of the writing in today’s society.

“From Eden’s bower, where all was bright and fair,

And every heart was filled with peace and care,

One fateful morn, a serpent crept and crept,

And tempted Eve, with lies that all bereft.

Her hand, so pure, reached forth to taste the fruit,

And from her act, all sin and woe took root,

The Gates of Heaven closed, and Man was cast,

Into a world of pain, and darkness fast.

But though we lost our home, so bright and gay,

We still retain a glimpse of that bright day,

And though our days are filled with toil and strife,

We hold the hope of one day regaining life.

So let us learn from our first parent’s fall,

And guard our hearts against temptations’ call,

And strive to live with faith and hope in mind,

That we may once again, the Heavens find.”

Not only can AI be used for creative purposes, but also to find an answer to questions with only a short prompt and a few seconds. The below excerpt was written by ChatGPT and gives a history of itself. Seeing the rate that AI has evolved at, it will clearly continue to evolve quickly and only be once more advanced. As AI becomes more streamlined and common in everyday life it may take over creative writing since it can produce pieces, although they may not have high quality, at a much faster rate than any human.

“1950s – The field of AI research is founded at a conference at Dartmouth College, with pioneers such as John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, and Claude Shannon in attendance. They set out to create intelligent machines that could perform tasks that normally required human intelligence, such as understanding natural language, recognizing objects, and solving problems.

1960s-1980s – AI makes significant progress during this time, with the development of expert systems, which could make decisions in specialized fields, and the creation of the first chatbots, which could engage in basic conversation with users. However, the field also experiences setbacks and funding cuts due to a lack of progress in achieving human-level intelligence and unrealistic expectations.

1980s-2010s – AI experiences a resurgence of interest and investment, driven by advances in computer hardware, algorithms, and data. New AI technologies, such as machine learning, begin to emerge and show great promise. AI finds practical applications in fields such as speech recognition, image recognition, and natural language processing.

2010s – The advent of deep learning and the availability of large amounts of data leads to breakthroughs in AI, particularly in the areas of computer vision and natural language processing. The creation of language models, such as OpenAI’s GPT-3 (Generative Pretrained Transformer-3), marks a significant milestone in the evolution of AI. These models are trained on massive amounts of text data and can generate human-like text, perform language tasks, and even engage in conversations with users.

Today, AI continues to evolve and make an impact in a growing number of fields and industries. ChatGPT, as a part of OpenAI’s GPT series, is a state-of-the-art language model that has been trained on a massive amount of text data and can perform a wide range of language tasks, including text completion, question answering, and conversation.”

As the AI stated it continues to evolve and make an impact on various industries. If AI continues at this rate it may replace simple jobs and leave future generations with a lack of people able to write because all they have ever known is an AI that can write for them. Seeing the potential benefits and drawbacks, it shows that AI can be both a powerful tool and a dangerous weapon. As it could save hours of time yet at the same time reduce critical thinking in people it is both useful and could be used to create havoc.

AI is by no means a toy as if the technologies are used corruptly it can be a powerful weapon to leverage against an entity.

Hi this is Titus; I am currently a senior. If I’m not reading a book, you would most likely find me at the tennis courts. I normally enjoy reading historical fiction, sci-fi, or fantasy, but love any good book.
