The Perfect Concert: A Poem

September 23, I remember it well.

The weather got cold, the colored leaves fell.

I got Shivers of excitement upon exiting the car;

In the distance to the concert venue, I wasn’t very far.

Ed Sheeran’s music played in my ear,

Before the concert, and when it came near.

My mom, my friend, and her mom were in tow;

When we walked toward SoFi Stadium, I was raring to go.

Upon finding our seats, it was still early,

But to buy merchandise before showtime, we had to hurry.

We bought t-shirts that had bright colors, and what do you know,

When I saw the shirt, I felt like I was in an Afterglow

Of joy, then we went back to our seats, where some of us partook in Pre-concert eats.

The concert soon started, but Sheeran wasn’t yet here;

An opening act, Maisie Peters, instead appeared.

After her songs, my hope for Ed was briefly bust,

As the artist that followed was a rapper named Russ.

After the openers, I was Thinking Out Loud, as Ed Sheeran started His set among cheers from the crowd. With enthusiasm and a guitar in hand, the start of Ed Sheeran’s set list was quite grand;

When chords were strummed, I knew most songs,

Knew exactly when to dance and Sing along.

Ed shared the song’s stories, prior to singing,

Including stories that went back to his beginning;

Love songs, dance hits, he did it all,

All of us concertgoers were having a ball!

After awhile, the final song came;

As Ed sang “Bad Habits”, energy stayed the same.

Then we left the stadium, feeling tired;

The epic performance left us excitedly wired.

At the end of the night, that’s when I knew,

This Perfect concert experience stuck with me all the time through.
