In a world where popular culture has become constantly defined by many fandoms of people who enjoy comic books and video games, there have always been many enjoyable conventions that people of any age can attend. Naturally, Comic-Con is the most popular and most famous convention, but in recent years, I’ve enjoyed a special type of convention specifically geared towards any fans of anime, video games, or collectibles: Collect-A-Con. What is Collect-A-Con, exactly? Well, Collect-A-Con is very similar to Comic-Con, as it is a yearly event that gathers many fans of all ages together in a place where they can enjoy themselves and express their love for a wide variety of popular anime and video game franchises. In addition to sharing collectibles, Collect-A-Con also brings many popular celebrities within the world of voice acting to this event where they can meet fans and sign autographs. As a convention related to anime and video games, Collect-A-Con is the place to find items related to franchises ranging from popular anime like Pokémon and One Piece to video games such as Super Smash Brothers and Mario. I am a huge enjoyer of this convention as I am a super fan of Pokémon and video games in general. This convention is special to me because I enjoy collecting things, and I watch many of the shows that the Collect-A-Con celebrities lend their voice to. Ever since 2022, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of my favorite voice actors at the convention; some of my favorite voice actors I met were: Erica Schroeder, who is widely known for Pokémon, Bryce Papenbrook who is the voice of the character Cat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug, and Bret Iwan, who is the current voice of Disney mascot Mickey Mouse. Seeing voice actors like these at Collect-A-Con makes me happy, and I’m glad to enjoy experiences like this every year.
