2 years gone, I’m halfway done..
the clock ticking fast, in a blink of an eye
precious moments, slipping away…
time passes, just as childhood had done
the halls I’ve walked, a thousand times..
the stairs I’ve climbed, on my sorest days
will later be memories, as we grow and leave this place.
third year of high school, a halfway mark…
the weight is real, the pressure is on
halfway to the end, so near yet so far.
where is the peace? where is the calm?
tests and deadlines stacked up so high
so much talk about college, not yet relatable
late night thoughts that never seem to cease
dreams of what the future holds, but doubts of what it may not hold
junior year, like a halfway point, a steep ascent, chaos everywhere
one step forward, two steps forward, as many steps as it takes
to reach the finish line
testing my strong mind and drive, asking
will I even make it to the finish line?
but even through the struggle, I will be whole
I will push with a strong mind and drive
because junior year, I’m halfway there
