I wake from my nap when I sense movement

What is going on beyond the window?

I must go see what is outside!

Oh, how the sun shines through the garden

Making it come alive

I must go see what is outside!

The trees are swaying in the breeze

The flowers are fluttering along

I must go see what is outside!

Ah! A beetle scuttles into his log

Ready to escape the garden’s activity

I must go see what is outside!

A glimpse of blue catches my eye

When the songbird rests on a branch

I must go see what is outside!

The clouds are marching away from me

Only the sun is left to caress the garden

I must go see what is outside!

Wait . . . something is happening now

My human walks to the door and reaches for the knob

I must go see what is outside!

As the door opens and the fresh air rushes in

I leap out and land softly on the grass . . .

Finally, I am outside.
