Lost Hope

This is not what I wanted to find:

My dreams slowly slipping away.

Heart and mind perfectly unaligned.

Unable to navigate, I turn blind.

My body cannot handle how much loss weighs.

This is not what I wanted to find.

How far can I distance myself from my own kind?

Knees forever bruised, I pray.

Heart and mind perfectly unaligned.

Composure gradually unwinds.

I cannot keep the thoughts at bay.

This is not what I wanted to find.

It’s up to Fate to decide

How I should live out each day.

Heart and mind perfectly unaligned.

My soul has left me behind.

Who now am I supposed to portray?

This is not what I wanted to find:

Heart and mind perfectly unaligned.
