Missing

Meaning 1

Well who would’ve thought,

Collectively we’d miss it.

Still can’t understand.

Meaning 2

It’s absence kills me.

Yet, I ignored its presence;

By now, I have learned.

Meaning 3

I’d cherish a group.

We never expected this,

But it’s what we have.

This series of haikus discusses the importance and current significance of the word “missing.” We all miss friends and events. We miss these things together, but that doesn’t make it feel any better. Just like a missing sock turns up eventually, we’ll find our way back to normal. Encouragement is all we can do to get through isolation together. Keep your head up, and see you soon.
