Sweet angel do not fret,

You’re not quite ready for those shoes yet.

When you’re older, stronger, bolder,

The responsibilities of those shoes, you’ll be able to shoulder.

But for now please stay free.

Skip through purple meadows joyously.

You’re not yet ready to commit.

Your soul to another, don’t yet knit.

Your time will come sooner or later.

Keep growing in love, making every day greater.

Please put flowers in your hair

And wear tutus and swing through the air.

But when your feet are big enough,

Don’t lose those things. They make you tough.

The ability to laugh and sing,

May just get you that wedding ring.

But even if that ring you never see,

No less of an angel will you be.
