“But the stranger that dwellers with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself” – Leviticus 19:34. This verse is something we, as Christians, are called to obey.hrough Orange Lutheran Missions’ partnership with Big Creek Missions, students are able to do just that.

Recently, a group of around one hundred OLu students got the opportunity to go to Big Creek, Kentucky and serve the community there. They served in areas hit very hard by the flooding through the central Appalachia region in July of 2022. Due to this most students worked on construction, building ramps and repairing water-soaked drywall. Other students went throughout the community and talked to residents about the gospel and heard their life stories.

The work that Big Creek Missions does in the community is amazing, and the staff are well loved by the community. By offering this mission trip to students, Orange Lutheran provides students, parents, and staff the opportunity to help and love people. Due to this, people who used to just be strangers from across the country are now friends.
