How do the sun and the moon decide what is day and what is night?

How do the stars decide which ones get to shine

What is this game called life, and how do I win?

How do I get to my vine and fig tree and remain unafraid?

Darwin said that nature is the survival of the fittest

But how wealthy are you if there is no one to bear witness?

Blood, sweat, and tears in order to make it

We suffer in silence, to succeed in public

We go out on weekends to forget it all for a moment

Dancing to the distortion

Sometimes we do question our efforts, but it’s our nature to compete

We must show we’re stronger than the one next to us

Haunted by our pasts, daunted by our future we continue the game

But how much would you really care if no one knew we were playing?
