The year is 2024. I can’t believe my eyes, because in a few months, I’ll be transitioning from a junior in high school to a senior. I don’t know if I’ll be fully prepared to enter my last year of high school. So much has happened during junior year so far: I’ve made new friends and reconnected with old ones, I’ve gone on many adventures including to Catalina and Los Angeles, I’ve dealt with loads of homework on some days, and craziest of all, I’m starting to figure out where I want to go to college. With some assistance from my counselor and my parents, I’ve made some decisions in terms of which colleges I’m interested in going to, and one of them recently caught my eye: UCLA, home of the Bruins. At first, I was unsure of big colleges like UCLA; all the way in LA? Distance doesn’t matter. What matters is which college is best for me. During a tour of the campus, UCLA primarily caught my interest due to its film school, the School of Theater, Film and TV. As a film fanatic, I wish to become a screenwriter possibly, making TFT an ideal place for me. UCLA overall was enjoyable to visit, but I still feel concerned and unsure about college since thinking about it just terrifies me; Am I ready to live on my own? To manage myself? To go out into the world for a brand new chapter of my life? Pretty soon, I’ll be a senior in high school, where I need to finalize where I go to college. I don’t know what the future holds for me just yet, but I’ll make sure I find a school that will fit my every need.
