The stage quivers
She dances delicately
Tip taps echoing through the theater
She throws herself across the stage
Landing with a bang
And she’s off
Quick spins and tosses
Arms opened wide
She moves as if it’s the last thing she’ll do
Hurried but still graceful
Her moves are dizzying
As her body contorts
Throwing herself into each move quickly
She jumps higher and higher
She comes down each time with a bang
Bang, Bang, Bang
It’s as if the lights are drawn towards her
And with an echoing cry
She stills
Arms raised up
An empty auditorium stares back
