The ”before” brought tension:
It brought a spark, waiting to become a fire
Some people pursue a romance for the chase-
And that’s what she decided to do
Some are in a romance for the purpose of using the other-
And that’s what he decided to do
The “during” brought confusion
It brought a process of going one step forward
And then three steps back again
The minute everything theoretically went “back to normal”
It all unraveled back to awkward conversations
And new beginnings
The fighting was silent
No one ever knew
She wasn’t “okay”
He wasn’t “okay”
She loved him
But it wasn’t enough
He was hurting
And didn’t let her see it
The “end” brought a time of reflection
A time where communication became inevident
The lacking period of trust had subsided,
And they entered a period of chaotic rest.
Nothing was the same,
Nothing would ever be the same.
What is love?
A question asked by many before,
And yet it still prevails.
No one has the answer,
Does that mean no one has it?
There is no simple definition of love,
Does that mean all types of it are different?
We are told that God’s love is enough,
So how come we go seeking for more?
For relationships, friendships, lifelong brotherhood.
Will we ever find it?
Will it ever be enough?
Ironically we all search for people to fill the hole in our hearts,
Until that same hole
designed to be filled with love
Is later destroyed
Into a gaping void hammered down by the very ones we sought to love.
As humans,
we seek and crave validation from those around us
When in truth,
Each one is too broken to fulfill those around them.
Until that little spark of love fills someone,
And the cycle repeats.
